It’s been…a long time since a soap opera made me laugh out loud, literally. Ignoring the fact that there are only 4 on the air any more, they just don’t get a chance to really go someplace unexpected.
I also know a bit about the technical side of filming, and the limited time and energy actors/crew have to shoot a scene on a soap — especially the ones with the large crowds. Normally, the actor blurts out the shocker, in a close up of his tormented face, and then we cut to see everyone’s reactions. So when I saw this…
